Get it straight right...

Get it straight right that I don't give a damn to lousy services...Am not a regular to Emerald Hill (am not naming the exact but u can make a wild guess from the pic) still, I don't think I deserve such lousy services (btw, do u call a lousy service a service?? I think it's doing me more of a disservice for making my nights' out unpleasant!)..

* P.S. Can someone explain to me why it takes a total of more than an hour or two and more than 3 calls to get that ice water served?? (And that's not before I was rudely shouted back at :S )

What amazes me more is that all the other paid drinks and food could be served at a much faster speed...in fact all served before the ice water...hmm...food for thoughts...

Shades of my Life~

Hectic, hectic and more hectic life. That's what Missy Bear is foresee-ing to happen in the next 2-3 months...

Everytime Missy Bear gets busy, she is reminded of how her friends commented that she still gets the time to blog, to take up courses, to go for whatever enriching classes and blah blah blah (on top of her routine job)...Frankly, it's not that Missy Bear enjoys overstuffing activities into her already packed schedule but she just cannot imagine a life that is all about 'work, sleep and eat'...zzzZZZzzz..lol

Just as Missy Bear loves her life to be colorful and enriching, she likes objects that are visually as colorful as well! So, here you go, introducing the super colourful jellybean brickos...Aren't they pretty? :)
* Some of these brickos were previously introduced in another entry.

Spot the bearbrick!!

Missy Bear went gaga over the last loooooooooooong wkend and went on a 'shopping' spree at Kinokuniya!!! One of the titles she bought was by author Jimmy Liao and Missy Bear thought this would be a good time to share with readers 2 bearbricks she owned, designed by Jimmy Liao :)
___________________________________________________________
In the pic: Taipei Toy Fest Bearbrick...hmm..2009? Can't remember exactly...lol

*Try spotting the camouflaged bearbrick!

In the pic: Bearbrick Series 19 (Animal- Jimmy Liao)
* Frankly, Missy Bear was praying hard not to get this when she was drawing the blindbox! The donkey in Jimmy's work looks so much better than the bearbrick itself!!!!!!!!! Somehow, Missy Bear felt that the donkey bearbrick looks as if it is having a serious lack of sleep with that 'dark circles-lookalike' beneath it's eyes....duhhhhhhh...

The Uglies...

Missy Bear loves toys~ and she got herself her first-ever 'Uglies' last night! Not exactly a Ultimate 'Uglies' fan but the one she saw last night was simply too cute (or rather, silly-looking) to resist..

P.S. This 'Ugly' is actually from the dinosaur series, Series 1...haha...that's how outdated Missy Bear is...lol

______________________________________________________________

One man's effort is never sufficient. It takes all to play a part for a better Earth/ Environment. :)

'Never Enough'

A1:
Treat her, mistreating her
Mother Earth is crying for the wrongs we've done
Save her, saving her
It doesn't take so much of us.

B1:
When I looked up the sky
Hearing those cries she's made
We simply can't write off

And I, how hard I'd tried
It's never enough, never never enough
It takes us all to play this part

C1:
And when the sun shines in your eyes
And when the wind blows worries off your mind
Do you take them
For granted thru' your lifetime

And I feel sorry for the Earth
At times people slipped it off their mind
That Mother Earth requires love
She needs our tender love

(Repeat A1, B1, C1)

The Beatles vs Elvis Presley

Missy Bear could always remember those days where the English Oldies were blasting out loud from the CC. near her grandparents' house. Weekly visit were made complete with those 'even the 12th floor occupants could hear' music. Those were the days..Those were the memories..Sadly, gone were those days too :(

en masse 'home leaving'

Helped out in one small part of my sis' home decor last evening and my bearbricks decided that their life would be much better to be in that classy shelf of hers than the unkept small corner of mine...lol
* I don't really feel the heartache to 'depart' with those beloved bearbricks for she's my SIS and I knew they are in her good hands...no worries :)

A fren thought I 'blinged' (with studs n not crystals though) my old classic bag when she saw the other bag of mine!!

World Cup Fever 2010

Was supposed to enter this entry last week but last week was a really bad week for Missy Bear, with a series of lousy events happening at the same time... :(

World cup kicks in on 11th June, if I remembered correctly and it reminds me of this bearbrick I owned...Pic says a thousand words..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the pic: Tokidoki soccer bearbrick 100%
(if I remember correctly, they released only 1,000 of this; correct me if I'm wrong)

Loves the design of the bearbrick for it truly reflects the 'flavour' of soccer (though I'm not a soccer fan)...
--
The bearbrick was marked with cheerings, soccer balls, soccer field on the body of the bearbrick and even better, soccer boots for the bearbrick itself!!! Ain't it cool? :)

'亂' + 'Matsu' = Cool!

Missy Bear loves great music and she is one who would 'silly-ing' purchase an album just for a song she likes. Gotta this chinese pop album '亂' released by Jaycee..

What prompted me to buy this album is really the song '忠'....I was so drawn to the arrangements when I first heard of this song...unconventional mandarin pop arrangements+ nice drumming = cool! It somewhat falls into those genre I pretty much like (e.g. 'One step closer' by Linkin Park)...Not forgetting, I thought those lyrics were quite well-written too!

Having said that, one thing I personally felt lacking from the song '忠' is the lack of '殺氣' in the vocals. With the strong arrangements + drumming backing, I was really looking forward to some strong vocals to hit in...The vocals however fall short of what I was expecting and I thought it didn't really manage to bring out the entire 'soul' of the song.. :(

Anyway, Missy Bear had yet to review the rest of the album and it would be unfair to make recommendations based on one song. Alright, keys down and time for review! :p

Whee~ My complete set of Kaws dissected bearbricks! No no, I'm not a 'completionist' or whatever you call. Getting the complete set is really cuz all 3 of them are simply unique and beautiful in their own way...

Postages from overseas~

Alright..since my brain is still pretty active from work (I call this the after-work effect), have decided to do a quick blog before I end my day and sleep..

Received 2 overseas packages today (hmm..I meant yesterday) and I always like the 'thrill' of opening the packages (though I would have guessed what the contents are...)

dadahhhh....2 more bearbricks to join Missy Bear's big family...Here u go...

'Bear'-rid with Candies...Yum yum!

Missy Bear got herself a new camera yesterday- Canon Ixus 130..! Hopefully will do more justice to the bearbricks (by capturing better images) :)

So here you go..the first trial pic using Canon Ixus 130. Yet to really explore how the 'manual' functions work...hopefully soon!

Chicken Ham'bear'ger....

Following last night Kueh Lapis to go with my antibiotics, tonight's dinner a chicken hamburger to go.

Not exactly my fav but I don't believe in spending on food when I'm not having the appetite to do so..And when dinner's not readily available at home, guess this would be the best choice..quick, easy and affordable..

* Missy Bear would rather choose sleep over eat after a week of looooooooong night (or rather day and night)......When is this Asia and US 'turmoil' coming to an end?? In to week 3, Missy Bear is really gonna turn into a mouldy Missy Panda Bear going at this rate!!!!!!!

I need outdoor fun and sunlight!!! sobz :_(

(The bearbrick somewhat looks more delicious/jucier than the real burger...I might just bite into the wrong 'burger' with my lack of sleep...zzzz)

Camouflaged in Kueh Lapis...

If not for my medication that reads 'after meals', I wouldn't have gotten these Kueh Lapis on my way home earlier.. Not that there aren't any other alternatives around...But rather, I don't really fancy any heavy or proper meals at this wee hours (unless it is a hanging out session with kakis)

P.S. I really miss those days where I could 'supper' as if there is no tomorrow... :(

*Wouldn't it be lovely if one day somebody decides to sell Kueh Lapis in the shape of bearbricks? :P

To 'black' or not to 'black'

With news (or rumours??) that the Kaws Black Dissected bearbrick gonna be released over the weekend --> my pocket's gonna burn yet again.. :S

The Kaws Dissected bearbrick series is one in which I'd a super MIXED feelings towards it...又愛又恨 (love/hate relationship...haha)..like the design for its uniqueness (and I kinda like the body of the bearbrick) but hate it for the 'exposed' brain...lol (that also explains why I've yet to own any of the 400%..)
---
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright...pics say/save a thousand words..
---
Here's my 'gory' collection and perhaps u could help me with some decision-making on whether or not I should get the full set for 'Blackie'...~

Handle with careeeeee....

One of the bearbrick design which captured my attention was the 'Staple Bearbrick' (released early this year). To me, this design sorta reflects the 'attitude' of collectors towards bearbricks --> Handle with care...

* If I'd truly 'Handle with care', Spongebob 100% would probably not end up losing it's right leg...Lesson learnt!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pic 1 & 2: Snapshots prior to unpackaging the boxes...Interesting and unconventional pacakaging definitely!

* If only those international shipping does offer such packaging when it comes to shipment of bearbricks...lol

Pic 3: da-dahh! Staple Bearbrick's out.. :) and most importantly...I've managed to return the packaging back to its original form...It does took me quite some effort to 'unpackage' the boxes without damaging them though...ahhhhh...

Accident does happen!!

Was trying to capture a photograph of all my 'Spongebob' series bearbricks and an ACCIDENT happened!!!

Spongebob 100% BROKE it's right leg during 'shooting'!!!!!

* I do actually have a feel few days back that something's bad gonna happen to Spongebob 100% soon! This is cuz Spongebob 100% actually fell a height before landing on the floor during the first shooting...arghz! Poor handling definitely!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pic 1: 'Family' portrait of Spongebobs prior to the accident ('Ambassadors' of Cheese!!)
---
To clarify, I'm actually not a fan of Spongebob. Neither do I follow or even know the story behind Spongebob. My likings is purely cuz of its resemblance to a piece of cheese...Would love to have a BIG bite! Yummy!

Pic 2: My Spongebob 100% seriously injured. I wished some plasters could do the job.
Meanwhile, I would need to source on ebay for his twin brother (for replacement)..duhhh!

Woodie's construction-in-progress~

Knowing my love for bearbricks, my Dad actually painstakingly took the effort to craft a 'bearbrick' lookalike for me..! It's the best gift on earth and I'm gonna dedicate this blog to him..!

* Highlighting yet again that there is no copyright infringement or whatsoever intended for this is absolutely NOT FOR/intended for SALE)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Managed to take a few photographs of Woodie's construction-in-progress prior to his Completion Date on 25th April 2010.

Sharing some snapshots as below..
---
Snapshot 1:

Woodie's head was the first to be constructed; Note that it's nose was yet to be shaped at that point
(duhhh...regretted not taking pics for the rest of the 8 parts...)

Snapshot 2:

Fully constructed Woodie...Awaiting polishing...

Snapshot 3:

Polishing Woodie's in progress~

Snapshot 4:

Fully-polished Woodie, awaiting to dry~

Snapshot 5:

Staple Bearbrick (left) vs Woodie

(P.S. Staple Bearbrick was used as a reference during craft work)

* Something I truly loves about Woodie. All his parts are movable not by 'clicks' so there isn't a 'conformed' degree per rotation! Is this the same for those released Wooden Bearbrick by Medicom? I've yet to own one myself to know the answer...

The love begins here~

(Left: Bearbrick Series 18 Cute- Spongebob;
Right: 'Woodie' as I named it. No, this is not one of the 'wood' release from Medicom. It is a piece handicrafted by Dad as a gift to me. No copyright infringement or whatsoever intended for this is absolutely NOT FOR/intended for SALE)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You guys must be be wondering why I'm featuring 'Spongebob' and 'Woodie' in my opening entry for this blog.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To me, this 2 pieces of artwork hold special meanings in my heart. To start off with, Spongebob is really the bearbrick that spins off my bearbrick hobby till today (I wasn't really spending that much on bearbricks prior to Spongebob). As for Woodie, it is just such a priceless gift that no other bearbricks can replace... :)
